- Newborns find movement soothing. If your baby won’t settle try rocking them in your arms, taking them out in a baby carrier, sling or in the pram.
- Newborn babies who are unsettled may benefit from skin to skin contact, lots of cuddles and possibly swaddling.
- After the first few weeks, try to encourage your baby to settle themselves to sleep more often. Settle them into their cot in a drowsy relaxed state, and leave them to do the last part themselves.
Monitor your baby while he or she sleeps with an Avent Digital Baby Monitor.
